Contemporary New Dwelling, Aylton, Hereford

5 Bedroom Detached House, Halford, Warwickshire

SIPS Contract

The Kingspan TEK Building System from Lowfield Timber Frames Ltd was chosen by our client in Halford who was looking to build a new family home. Excellent thermal performance was vital along with high levels of airtightness to compliment and work with the Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery System (MVHR) that was installed. Low long term running costs were very important to our client, hence the choice to opt for a fabric lead stratedgy using SIPS technology.

The complex design of the building was also a challenge for the design team at Lowfield. A number of large full height glazed areas required framing out whilst maintaining building stability and integrity at the same time.

5 Bedroom Detached House, Halford, Warwickshire

New First Floor SIPS Extension, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire

SIPS Contract

This project was a new first floor extension on an existing Bungalow in Stratford-Upon-Avon. The Kingspan TEK Building System was specified to create the new first floor walls and high vaulted roof on this project for our client. The TEK (SIPS) Sytem is lightweight in nature and therefore helped to keep the imposed loads of the exisiting structure down to a minimum, therefore helping to minimise any new works to the existing foundation. At the same time the new SIPS structure gave our client a high level of thermal insulation and air tigtness, whilst virtually doubling up the available habitable floor space and adding some considerable value to the site.

Lowfield Timber Frames designed, engineered, supplied and erected the Kingspan TEK Building System on this modern project for our client in wallington. All works undertaken by Lowfield, including the foundations were completed in four working weeks. The site was very restricted for access which also added to the challenge for our site teams. In addition to the restricted access issues, the design required a semi circular stairwell turrett which we formed using a faceted timber frame panels and also a lift shaft.
